“No man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without at last finding the other end fastened about his own neck.”
– Frederick Douglass
Legendary abolitionist and social reformer Frederick Douglass visited Poughkeepsie in 1858. This extraordinary man was the great-great-grandfather of Kevin Douglass Greene, who we are honored to present for a talk about Frederick's substantial influence. Mr. Douglass Greene is a senior advisor with FDFI, an abolitionist and anti-racist non-profit organization founded by himself and direct descendants of Frederick Douglass. He is an Army veteran, whose travels have allowed him to serve communities, gain diverse experiences, impart knowledge, and ignite a passion for education and history. There will be a presentation along with conversation and Q & A. Registration required.
