Event Details
Babysitting 101 is a valuable course for teens ages 12-18 who are interested in becoming a babysitter. The course will cover topics such as ages/stages of young babies and toddlers, safety, first aid, feeding and caring for young children, and communication skills. Each future babysitter will also get to learn how to hold a baby and change his/her diaper. Participants take notes from a PowerPoint, share group discussions, and share hands-on experiences. At the end, there will be a brief quiz and certificates will be distributed. Registration required.
About the instructor: Kathleen Berwick is a first grade teacher in Wappingers Central School District. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and special education from Marist College and a Master's degree in literacy from SUNY New Paltz as well as three teaching certifications including early childhood education, general education, and special education.
